DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION REPORTS TO; PRODUCTION MANGER

Welding Dept.

Job summary

Review parts and ensure quality control compliance from prior manufacturing stage is within acceptable tolerances.  If required, prep material for welding.  Weld components in accordance with engineering drawings and prints.   Ensure products are secured and care is taken to ensure a scratch free finish.    

Essential job functions

Production Manager or Welding Supervisor will assign work.     

Read and understand prints.  Check prints on every job and make sure all components have been properly manufactured before job is started in weld.  Quality Control is imperative.    

Check prints for cabinet finish (i.e. grind welds, mill grain, etc.) and ensure material has been prepped prior to initiating welds.    

Quality control checks: Check enclosures for missing welds, missing components, burn through, scratches’, etc. and notify QC Manager / Production Manager of problems.  Identify and resolve training issues with any shortfalls within the department.  Let the employee know what is expected of them. 

Work at a efficient pace to ensure enclosures are built correctly and scheduled due dates are met.   Meet or exceed production standards as identified by management Attendance: You will be expected to start work at 6:00 am and some overtime will be expected. 

Be able to effectively and safely operate all equipment in the weld department. Complete accurate Scrap and Rework forms on all material that needs correcting.   Keep weld area clean and organized.   Ensure a safe working environment. 

  1. Read and understand prints.
  2. Pass the test and operate the forklifts. 
  3. Pass the test for MIG / TIG welding and equipment. 
  4. Must be able to lift 40lbs.

Must be able to effectively and efficiently operate all weld equipment, drills, saws, rivet gun, caulk gun, grinders and hand tools.
