Bison ProFab is the industry leader in manufacturing high quality IP68 electrical enclosures. International Protection (IP) standards are used to designate the protective capacity of an electrical enclosure. The two-digit code shows the protection against particles (the first digit) and water (the second digit). IP68 enclosures provide:
- Complete protection for the enclosed equipment from dust and other materials such as dirt, oils and non-corrosives
- Protection from voltage and moving parts for people who come in contact with the enclosure
- Protection against harmful quantities water entering the enclosure when it is immersed in water up to 5 meters for 1 hour
IP68 enclosures offer the highest rate of protection for this standard. They are rated for demanding processing, industrial and marine environments and are used for seaboard, offshore and applications in environments that are prone to flooding or have frequent exposure to water.
